I know that bunches of you here are on ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=91.7) fountaingirl's f-list...(in fact I ganked this from wretchmuffin) but I thought I'd repost it for those of you who aren't.....

Maybe I'm taking this a little personally because next year my son will probably be in kindergarten (and I'm wondering if I'm "tiger mom"-ing [as one of you describes it] by proxy), but here's your Bad Teacher story of the week.
In brief, Wendy Portillo had a five year old kindergartner stand up in front of his classmates and have them tell him what they didn't like about him and then "vote" him out of class. Kid likely has Aspberger's. Kid is five. Wendy Portillo is a Bad Teacher and should probably find work in a different field.
I know it's a holiday weekend and all, but if you could take some time to be outraged over the internet or with a real live letter?

I've actually thought about the fact that there may be more to this than is being revealed at the moment, but the teacher confirms the heart of the story: that she had five year old children "vote" one of their classmates out of class, calling him "disgusting" (and also, less disturbingly, "annoying"). Even if he's a pain-in-the-ass five year old (which certainly can happen), it doesn't really seem like she created a "teachable moment" here. In fact, she sounds cruel and stupid. At best, she's an incompetent creep.
While I'm generally reluctant to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of internet rage, it seems (1) justified and (2) potentially effective in this case.
And my own (Bullet's) view.....Kids have a hard enough time dealing with classmates as it is, and as someone who, while never formally diagnosed, probably is an Aspberger's sufferer, this is so repellant to me that I want to vomit!!!
Edit.....I just emailed the superintendant with my views....who knows if that will make any diffence.... |

I'm offering up my bottle (full to just above label) of Gypsy Queen....she's pretty, but I bounced my paypal payment for the Minotaur and paypal is going to keep trying for payment (and I'm going to keep having no money in that accout) in three days....argh!
So I'm asking $40.00 shipped for her. sigh.....if this doesn't work I may just have to suck it up and sell Underpants (which I really, really, really don't want to do!) |

I guess I need one 'o these things....
My big wish is ....More Minotaur (yeah, I have 1 1/2 bottles...but I wear it alot!-someone frimped me a glass wand top and guess what bottle it got put on!)
Underpants (of course) but I've around 1/2 bottle left and can survive on that for now.
Snake Charmer (of course...again) and ditto on the 1/2 bottle left...but I use this one
more than Underpants so it will go pretty fast!
I need another bottle of Mr. Ibis (am giving the one I have to sis for Christmas as it smells just like her signature scent Ambrosia by Song of India--and I think she'll get a kick out of having a scent from a line based on Neil Gaiman's work!) But I want one for myself as well.
GCS--(I have bits left of all these--they are very nice!)
Fenris Wolf (my bottle is low :-( )
Shub Niggurath (still have plenty left but its the holidays again and I love this smell for the cold weather!)

Sunrise this am was FANTASTIC!!!! I knew it would be from the hints of pink showing up in the interesting cloud patterns on my walk home.....so I rushed in, grabbed the good camera and ran out the door to wait.....
SSSOOooOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did!!!! Following pic is completely unedited except to make smaller.
